The September ramble organisers are Martin and Tracey Marles who will lead a walk starting and finishing at The Squirrel Inn, Laymore, Winsham, Nr Chard TA20 4NT where there is plenty of parking. It will be approx. 5 miles mainly on quiet country lanes, bridlepaths and trails around and through the village of Thorncombe.
There are a couple of stiles toward the end of the walk, an uphill section at the start and a short uphill section at the end of the walk. There are plenty of views of the village of Thorncombe, Winsham and surrounding countryside.
If time allows there is lovely St Marys Church in Thorncombe where you can also see a pair of 15th century monumental brass memorials.
We will meet at 9:30 in the pub car park and set off at 10:00am. The pub has advised that the pub will be closed on arrival but they will enable access to a WC.
Meals should be paid after the walk before eating (pending confirmation).
We will be returning around 12:30 for eating at 1:00pm
